I have not been buying much in the way of clothes the past two months because 1) I don't need anything and 2) we are buying a new house. Major purchases tend to reign in my other needless spending. But I did get this quilted bomber jacket from Gap this month during their friends and family promotion. I had been wanting a more dressy sweatshirt type jacket and I think this fits the bill. The quality seems nice, it is quite heavy and really soft. It is very short though. I would even call it cropped but I like it. Overall I am happy with the purchase.
In the new house (which we move into in two days!) we have a fireplace. It is brick all the way to the ceiling with no mantel, just a awful shelf that is way higher than a mantel. I hope to get that shelf removed and create some sort of mantel. In the meantime, we need to create a seating area in that room. I would love an arrangement like this.
Other things I'm liking this week...
Audrey Hepburn's granddaughter on the cover of Harper's Bazaar September Issue.
Reading The Skimm everyday. A really funny way to get the news headlines.
As we pack for our move and discover things we forgot we even had I have become even more interested in the minimalist movement. I began following this blog a month or two ago and really like it.
We have watched a few episodes of Tiny House Nation. It is fascinating to see people downsize to live in a house under 400 sq ft. It puts what you really need into perspective.
