Liking Lately

I've been enjoying my minimal holiday decorations around the house.  My new purchases this year were stockings and the stocking hangers since we now have a fireplace and an ugly shelf above it  (gotta love a new house and all the projects you want to do).

I'm excited about this dress I just purchsed from LOFT.  Easy to layer and add tights for the winter as necessary.

I love this post from the blog Into Mind about Cheap Chic a style book from the 70's.  Some advice is truly timeless.

I'm addicted to playing games on this site.  It's amazing how little I remember from school.

Frugal Option: Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots

I'm thinking about getting the frugal option...can't decide if I would wear them enough to justify the purchase.

Target Wish List

I just happened to check out Target's website and found some fun things that are now on my wish list.

If you are in need of a gingham collared shirt to layer underneath sweaters this fall and winter, I think Target has a good option for under $10.

It's on clearance for $9.18 with free shipping (no minimum).  The reviews say it is pretty sheer so you'd probably have to wear a cami underneath if you wanted to wear it on it's own.

I saw this jacket in store a few months ago and talked myself out of buying it.  A few weeks later I was still thinking about it so I went back to the store and they were all sold out.  Luckily it is now online.  It comes in this black and white or also in a light heathered gray.  It is really cute in person.

Here is a less expensive way to get in on the blanket trend.  I love houndstooth.

This reminds me of a Kate Spade bag - the shape and style anyway.  I'm sure the quality isn't as good but it is only $19.99!

If you read any blogs you have seen Target's version of Zara's ultra popular blanket scarf.  Here is a different pattern that I like just as well.

Outfit Inspiration: Booties (Short Boots)

First off, I don't really like the word booties.  Can we just call them short boots?   Anyway, I have trouble finding knee high boots that fit my short calves so I usually go for ankle boots or mid calf boots.  It seems like there are many styles somewhat in between those two camps and I think I like it.

Liking Lately

I like the idea of being someplace like the one above alot.  But since I'm not, I guess I should embrace all things fall like breaking out my fall shoes like these.

I love a brogue or two.

Outfit Inspiration: Gray Jeans

LOFT at ShopStyle

Gray jeans were on my fall wish list.  I just ordered these from LOFT.  Normally their modern fit jeans fit me great so hopefully these work out.  My summer off work uniform was white jeans and a gray tee.  I think my winter weekend uniform will be gray jeans, a burgundy sweater and/or white or gray tee and black ankle boots.

eShakti Review

I have been blogging for just about four years now and have never received a product or other compensation (seriously not even a dime - I do use some affiliate links in my posts but they so far haven't garnered any income).  That isn't why I blog though and has never been a goal of mine.  You can imagine my surprise when I was contacted by eShakti to review an item from their site!  I certainly wasn't going to say no to this amazing opportunity to check out this brand I have heard so much about.  My coworker and friend has purchased a few dresses from eShakti.  She raves about them and they look great on her!

I love that you can customize the item especially for you.  I chose a sleeveless dress that I liked the cut and print, but since I don't have any short sleeved dresses in my closet, I had them make it with sleeves.  You can also choose your neckline, length and give them your measurements so it really is made for you (or you can select a standard size).  Oh and did I mention the dresses have pockets?

I chose the Herringbone Print Sash Tied Dress.  I thought the print and cut would really be versatile, especially for fall.  As I mentioned, I wanted sleeves so I customized it to have elbow length sleeves.  I think it would have been cuter sleeveless but I have a gazillion sleeveless dresses.  It came with a matching self belt which I did not have on in these pictures.

Overall I really like the dress.  The fabric is soft and substantial.  Being petite, I love that I could make any dress knee length (or any length!) on me.  The ordering process was easy and the shipping was quick especially considering I customized the dress and it ships from India.

They don't only have dresses, they do have tops, jackets and skirts as well.  So many different styles to choose from!

Oversized Scarves - Yay or Nay?

Oversized Scarves?  I personally love the look.  While they might be overwhelming on my petite frame, I love to wear anything that could double as a blanket.
