Friday Shopping Wish List: Menswear Inspired

I'm on the hunt for a cute pair of oxfords for fall.  I had a pair last year from Target that were cute but unbelievably uncomfortable since they didn't fit me well (I have narrow feet).  So I got rid of those and am now looking for a better fitting pair.  This search has got me thinking of all the menswear inspired pieces I are just a few.

Frugal Option: Rag & Bone Harrow Booties

I was looking for a less expensive option for these Rag & Bone booties.

Rag and Bone at ShopStyle

Though not exactly the same, the Dolce Vita Stirrup Some Fun Boots at ModCloth caught my eye. Pretty cute!

Pinteresting Wednesday: Pallets

I'm linking up with The Vintage Apple again this week to share some pins.  I don't know why exactly, but I have accumulated a lot of pins with pallets.

When I was growing up, we only used pallets as the foundation for our stacked hay in the barn.  Who knew you could do so many crafty and cool things with them?

My Favorite Red Carpet Look: Teen Choice Awards

I have been feeling very un-blog-inspired lately.  So this Monday morning, I am leaving you with my favorite look from last night's teen choice awards.  (Since I am far, far, far away from being a teenager, I did not watch these awards but did happen to see what some of the youngsters were wearing to the event.)

Nina Dobrev in J. Mendel

Love this color and love the Vampire Diaries!

Fitting Room Review: LC Lauren Conrad Floral Ankle Jeans

I just can't stay away from the LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohls.  I have a gray blazer and boyfriend jean shorts from the line that I purchased last year that I LOVE.  However, lately, I haven't had much luck.

I last reviewed the eyelet shorts and while I liked the look of them on the hanger, they didn't work on me.  The same is true for the Floral Ankle Jeans.

original $60.00
So here they are on me.  These are not made to be ankle length on a petite person.  I'm 5'3" and I had a bit of a gathering at the ankle.  While not ideal, I could live with that or get them hemmed if they fit everywhere else.  This, below, is what I can't live with.
The dreaded back gap.  I think all girls with a butt deal with the waist gap at one time or another.  I just don't get this because other LC Lauren Conrad jeans and shorts fit me in the waist and hips.  This style does not.  There is gappage happening in the front too but didn't want to show too much skin and make this a R rated blog post.

I think these would be a good less expensive way to get in on the floral jeans trend for someone taller and built differently than me.  They seemed comfortable as they have some stretch to them but I had to pass because of the fit on me.

I guess this could be a frugal option post too.  Anyone else think the LC jeans strike a resemblance to these Citizens of Humanity Jeans?

Friday Shopping Wish List: Bags

I've got a new everyday/work bag on my mind since my LAMB satchel I purchased on Ebay is falling apart.  Something makes me think it's not the real deal since it started unraveling right after I took the tags off.

Anyway, I've used it for months despite it coming undone at the seams so in my mind I am justified in getting a new bag. Sure I have other bags at home I could switch back to, but what fun is that?  Here are just a few bags that have caught my eye lately.  Nothing (that I can afford) is really standing out though.  I do like the ones with both the longer and shorter straps.  Which one is your favorite?

I saw this Rebecca Minkoff satchel at TJMaxx recently.  I liked it, but even discounted at $299, I didn't like it that much.  I think this is the "Brynn" satchel that is still retailing for over $400 at Nordstrom.

Orange and Pink

I don't wear a lot of bright colors and my house is decorated with neutrals.  But pink and orange continues to be a popular color combo and I'm loving it!  Maybe I can work some into my real life to brighten things up a bit.
